William Taylor per General Stewart, in the service of government charged with absenting himself from the barracks. Chief Constable James Calvert states...The prisoner was absent last night from the barracks at the 7 oclock muster. He was not found till after 9 oclock. The prisoner states - I was absent on duty at the mines and could not attend muster. The principal superintendent states...The prisoners attendance at the mines was not required after sunset, there is no reason why he could not attend the evening muster. Sentenced to 25 lashes

Original conditional pardon offered for sale in 2007. The pardon is for William Wall, born 1794 in Somerset and arrived in Australia in 1818 on the ship G. Stewart, sentenced for an unknown crime for period of his natural life. The pardon is dated 1849, and was given by Governor of New South Wales, Sir Charles Augustus Fitz Roy, and is signed by him as well as the Colonial Secretary, with an original wax seal.
